Bohuslav Ježek 067

Biography

Early Beginnings

From a Child's Accordion to the Concert Instrument

Bohuslav Ježek (born in 1998) is a Czech accordionist who has been devoted to music since early childhood. In 2005, he began picking out his first songs by ear on a small children’s accordion he had received from a toy shop. Just a few weeks later, his grandfather, Bohuslav Ježek, began teaching him to play the accordion. He taught him the basics of Czech folk songs, waltzes, polkas, military marches, and film melodies, gradually introducing him to French accordion music as well. He thus became Bohuslav’s first teacher, role model, and greatest musical mentor.

As Bohuslav did not attend a traditional music school, he developed his skills in his own way – through daily practice, exploring different genres, and learning directly from recordings by world-renowned accordionists. He began performing publicly while still a child, and these performances became his greatest musical education.
